Nursing Student Scholarships
Each scholarship covers tuition, room & board, and fees for one school year. The four selected students have a financial need while maintaining high academic standards for their future careers.

Clean Hands, Healthy Schools
Run by nursing students and professors at the School of Nursing at Pucarani, Bolivia, the program teaches hand and dental hygiene to elementary schoolchildren in the surrounding rural region.

"Boris Vasquez, Bolivian musician and conductor, will visit Rochester in October as the special guest at the AAVia Foundation’s fourth annual gala. The gala will be held Oct. 13 at Casa Larga Vineyards in Fairport. Hosted by the AAVia Foundation for the Health of Bolivian Children, this year’s celebration will feature a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, silent auction, and a special music performance by Vasquez.

Returning as master of ceremonies is Ginny Ryan, anchor of 13WHAM News and reporter. Vasquez conducts the Youth Symphonic Orchestra of Santa Cruz, a nonprofit that works to “make it possible for children and young people of limited resources to be guided in the field of music,” with free music education that children in Bolivia are otherwise unable to access..."

About the AAVia Foundation
The AAVia Foundation for the Health of Bolivian Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity founded in 2012 by the Malia family. The heart of the organization is based on a three decade personal and professional relationship between the Malia family, Bolivia, and the medical system in the capital city of La Paz.
